Após adiamentos de 1 ano, Piracicaba foi confirmada como destino da nova fábrica de automóveis no Brasil.
O grupo coreano Hyundai confirmou a instalação de uma fábrica em
Piracicaba (SP) para produzir 150 mil carros por ano, projeto orçado em US$ 600 milhões. Ontem, o vice-presidente mundial da companhia, Eui-Sun Chung, se reuniu em São Paulo com o governador José Serra para comunicar a retomada do projeto.
A construção havia sido anunciada em setembro de 2008, mas em janeiro o grupo suspendeu o plano, alegando dificuldades diante da crise financeira internacional.
Agora, a multinacional coreana retomou o projeto da fábrica, que deverá entrar em operação em 2012, um ano depois do inicialmente previsto, e gerar 1,6 mil empregos. Serra informou que Estado e Prefeitura de Piracicaba investirão mais de R$ 50 milhões em infraestrutura na cidade.

It also intends to promote the sharing of ideas and emerging technologies, as well as to foster research and develop collaborations among local and international academia, research institutions and relevant industries.
We would like to invite you to attend the 25th International Conference on CAD/CAM, Robotics and Factories of the Future (CARsFOF), 2010. The conference is being organised under the auspices of the International Society for Productivity Enhancement (ISPE) by the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and CSIR.
This is the second CARsFOF, conference to be hosted in South Africa, the first was hosted in Durban in 2001. This, the 25th conference, will be held a the CSIR International Convention Centre (www.csiricc.co.za), in the hospitable capital city of Pretoria, also known as Tshwane, from 12 – 15 July 2010.
